Generational change on
Imerco's Executive Board

M. Goldschmidt Holding has concluded an agreement with Ib Berntsen which means that he will handle tasks for the M. Goldschmidt Holding Group in the future. Ib Berntsen joins M. Goldschmidt Holding’s Board of Directors and takes up position as director of M. Goldschmidt Capital in charge of preparing a sale of Imerco, which will be completed when the opportunity for such sale is favourable for M. Goldschmidt Holding. See the previous statement from the principal shareholder on this matter. As a result, Ib Berntsen resigns his position as CEO of Imerco.

COO Villy Gravengaard (43) has been appointed as new CEO of Imerco. Villy Gravengaard has been COO of Imerco since the summer of 2009 in charge of procurement, marketing and logistics. Villy Gravengaard joined Imerco from a position as Manager of Top-Toy A/S. Villy Gravengaard was employed with Imerco A.m.b.A as Purchase and Marketing Manager from 2005-2009, and before that he held a position as Product Manager with Dansk Supermarked.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Imerco Holding A/S and principal shareholder of Imerco Holding A/S, Mikael Goldschmidt, said: “Ib Berntsen has been the driving force behind the conversion of the Imerco chain from a voluntary chain into being Denmark’s largest housewares chain by far. This conversion has taken place in the midst of some of the absolutely most severe financial turmoil this country has ever experienced. This has been a big managerial challenge.”

Ib Berntsen said: “Imerco has come a long way in the conversion towards being an efficient capital chain and it has been a privilege for me to have been a part of the planning and implementation of such a demanding process. Over the last couple of years, we have renewed Imerco’s image and future-proofed our platform. This is a job that I’m very proud to hand over to my successor and I’m looking forward to taking on the future tasks that M. Goldschmidt Holding holds in store for me.”

Mikael Goldschmidt: “In Villy Gravengaard we have a dynamo who has the commitment, strength and ability required to further develop and expand the strong platform held by Imerco today ― and to do so with the pace and determination that inevitably characterises a successful and modern retail operation. Imerco’s growth strategy is unchanged, as are our ambitions."

Following the generational change, Imerco’s Executive Board consists of Villy Gravengaard, CEO, and Thomas Colding Jørgensen, CFO.
