Ignoring the financial crisis with persistent sales growth in 2011, Imerco set a new chain record at the Lyngby Storcenter shopping centre

Imerco Holding A/S, Denmark's undisputedly largest housewares chain, announces an update on its most recent initiatives:

  • Imerco continues to generate sales growth in 2011 and, with its new, stylish store at Lyngby Storcenter recording opening day revenue of around DKK 1.2 million, this looks to be a lasting, positive trend.
  • Imerco has also expanded its store at the Field's shopping centre, celebrating the event with a grand reopening on 1 September 2011. On opening day, the store recorded an exceptional performance, generating revenue in excess of DKK 600,000.
  • In addition, Imerco is scheduled to open a new, stylish store at the Helsingør Bycenter shopping centre in September 2011.
  • These initiatives have given Imerco an even better platform for generating further growth in an otherwise challenged retail market.

Sustained increase in revenue and market share in 2011

Imerco is continuing on the revenue growth track in 2011, improving its 2010 record performance of an overall sales growth of 11%.

Growth is generated on the basis of an aggressive sales strategy and intense customer focus, as Imerco has distributed advertising flyers almost every week of 2011, and every single store has supported the campaign by creating extraordinary customer experiences.

Imerco is dedicated to expanding its store network to 175 stores

With these recent initiatives, Imerco has again branched out and is now represented at 155 attractive locations all over Denmark. Imerco is ready to add more stores to its portfolio as soon as an opportunity to open a profitable store arises. Imerco expects that the store network may be expanded to 175 stores within a few years.

Today, Imerco already holds the position as Denmark's undisputedly most dominant housewares chain. Imerco Holding A/S is a 83%-owned subsidiary of the M. Goldschmidt Group.
